If you are looking for a way to enjoy your herb or tobacco without spending money on a fancy bong, you might be surprised to learn that you can make one yourself with some common household items. A bong is a device that filters smoke through water, making it smoother and cooler to inhale. Bongs can be made of glass, metal, plastic, or ceramic, but they all have the same basic parts: a chamber, a downstem, a bowl, and a mouthpiece.
In this blog post, we will show you how to make a bong with household items that you probably have lying around your home. We will also give you some tips and tricks to make your homemade bong more efficient and enjoyable. Let’s get started!
What You Will Need
To make a homemade bong, you will need the following items:
- A plastic bottle of any size. The larger the bottle, the bigger the hits will be.
- A pen or a highlighter that can be taken apart.
- Some aluminum foil.
- A needle or a pin.
- A pair of scissors or a sharp knife.
- Some duct tape or electrical tape.
- Some water.
- Your herb or tobacco of choice.
Step 1: Make the Carb
The carb is the hole that you will cover with your finger when you smoke and release to clear the smoke from the chamber. To make the carb, poke a hole near the top of the bottle with your scissors or knife. Make sure the hole is large enough for air to flow through it, but not so large that you can’t cover it with your finger. You can also use a pen or a paperclip to make the hole.
Step 2: Make the Downstem
The downstem is the tube that connects the bowl to the water in the chamber. To make the downstem, take apart your pen or highlighter and remove the ink cartridge and any other parts until you are left with a hollow plastic tube. You can also use a straw or a metal tube if you have one.
Step 3: Make the Bowl
The bowl is where you will put your herb or tobacco to burn. To make the bowl, tear off a small piece of aluminum foil and wrap it around one end of the tube. Press the foil into the tube to create a concave shape. Then, poke some small holes in the foil with your needle or pin. Be careful not to poke too many holes or make them too big, as this will cause your herb or tobacco to fall through.
Step 4: Attach the Downstem and Bowl to the Bottle
To attach the downstem and bowl to the bottle, poke another hole slightly above the waterline on the side of the bottle. The waterline is where the water will reach when you fill up the chamber. Make sure the hole is slightly smaller than the diameter of your tube, so it fits snugly. Then, push the open end of the tube through the hole at an angle, so that it reaches below the waterline inside the bottle. The bowl should be pointing upwards on the outside of the bottle. Use some duct tape or electrical tape to seal any gaps around the hole and prevent air leaks.
Step 5: Fill Up the Chamber with Water
To fill up the chamber with water, pour some water into
